Keyboard Companion magazine, published by the Frances Clark Center, is a quarterly for piano teachers with a dedicated website www.KeyboardCompanion.com. The publication is designed as a practical companion of the highest quality for independent music teachers who work largely in isolation, as well as a resource for university pedagogy programs. In addition to feature articles, each issue is comprised of departments headed by a specialist on issues that are germane to the daily work of music teaching. Through a unique question-answer format, hundreds of teachers, students and professionals have contributed to the magazine in its 16-year history.
The current paid circulation of Keyboard Companionis approximately 5000 passionate and dedicated subscribers in the US, Canada, and a dozen other countries. Through a carefully orchestrated strategic initiative to university pedagogy programs and creative marketing to new audiences here and abroad, our goal is to double that base by 2012. In addition, we seek to enhance and upgrade the online component of the Keyboard Companion experience with the goal of publishing a totally online version as it becomes a viable alternative medium for our readership and advertisers.
