The National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy is a continuation of the original National Conference
on Piano Pedagogy, founded by Richard Chronister and James Lyke, that convened between 1979 and 1994.
The history of piano pedagogy in the American university is inextricably linked to the National Conference
through people, initiatives, and institutions. Now an ongoing project of the Frances Clark Center, the National
Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy meets in early August of odd-numbered years.
