The New School for Music Study, now a division of the Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy, was founded in 1960 by Frances Clark and Louise Goss. It is a not-for-profit community school specializing in music study at the keyboard. Its 250 students (both children and adults) serve as the teaching laboratory for the Center.

Its on-going work is research in music, in learning, and in the most effective music-teaching methods and materials. The school serves as a model school for university and preparatory departments across the country. New School students enjoy high quality private instruction, and learn from other students and piano teachers in group classes, technical assessments and optional competitions.
